Master's degree in Environmental Sustainability and Education
The master’s degree programme in Environmental Sustainability and Education is a course unit in the master’s degree class LM-60.
The degree programme in Environmental Sustainability and Education refers to the Department of Biology - DiBIO and is coordinated by the School of Sciences.
The Master’s degree in Environmental Sustainability and Education aims to train graduates with an advanced and operational background in the area of natural sciences, capable of applying this knowledge to the management and protection of the natural environment, and prepared to communicate and disseminate this knowledge to a diverse audience.
The objectives will be achieved by supplementing face-to-face lessons with laboratory and field exercises and the discussion of case studies, in particular dedicated to the knowledge of experimental methods and techniques and data processing.
The master’s degree programme in Environmental Sustainability and Education is organised in two educational courses, which have some course units in common (in the 1st year) to both curricula link.
In the SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT curriculum, students will acquire an in-depth knowledge of modern faunal, floristic, geological, geomorphological monitoring and remote sensing techniques, as well as methods for setting up an environmental impact assessment and establishing conservation strategies.
In the TEACHING AND COMMUNICATION curriculum, students will address the theoretical and methodological foundations necessary to work in facilities dedicated to science education and dissemination in a contemporary context, as well as the general issues of science-natural teaching and dissemination.
The language of the programme is English, with the exception of course units in the Teaching and Communication curriculum, which are in Italian.
